Violence at party: Stabbing at village festival leads to young man's arrest

Police have arrested a young man from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district in connection with a stabbing at a village festival in Egling. The suspect, who has a prior police record, faces charges of dangerous bodily harm. He was taken into custody and placed in a correctional facility after being arrested on Monday, two days after the alleged attack.

The incident occurred late Saturday evening during the Blauliachd-Party, organized by the local youth club. The suspect is accused of attacking a 16-year-old with a knife, causing an injury to his arm that required surgery. Prior to this, he allegedly struck a 20-year-old acquaintance of the victim.

The perpetrator managed to disappear into the crowd of approximately 700 festival attendees. Police conducted an extensive search, interviewing witnesses and reviewing video footage. The 16-year-old victim underwent surgery overnight, while the 20-year-old sustained minor head injuries from a blow.

Beyond the stabbing, several other individuals were injured in separate altercations at the festival. Police reported about half a dozen complaints related to assault. Officers responded to the scene around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, finding an agitated atmosphere. Law enforcement and emergency services deployed in large numbers. During the dispersal of the event, officers reportedly had to use force, detaining or even restraining some partygoers.
