VIVA and Rakuten Symphony Partner to Modernize Bolivia's Mobile Network

Bolivian telecom operator VIVA is embarking on a significant technological modernization in partnership with Japan's Rakuten Symphony. The collaboration, focused on upgrading VIVA's mobile network, marks a strategic move to enhance connectivity and service quality for users across the country.

The initial phase of this ambitious project will see an investment of over $10 million. This funding will be directed towards modernizing 200 existing mobile network sites and updating various systems. A key aspect of this upgrade is the implementation of Open RAN (Open Radio Access Network) technology, a cutting-edge architecture that promotes a more open, modular, and flexible network infrastructure. VIVA will be the first operator in Bolivia to adopt this advanced technology.
