Vodafone supports national team with hologram stands in Volleyball Nations League

Vodafone is leveraging its 5G technology to enhance support for the Turkish national women's volleyball team during the Volleyball Nations League in Ankara. The company, a consistent supporter of women's volleyball in Turkey, is integrating digital advancements into the sport.

For the Turkey-Belgium match, Vodafone implemented a special project using 5G hologram technology. This initiative, dubbed the Vodafone 5G Turkey Tribune, projected the holographic images and voices of 41 fans from different locations into the arena. These fan holograms appeared behind the stands during the national anthem ceremony, joining the entire stadium in singing "İstiklal Marşı."

Meltem Bakiler Şahin, Vice President of Vodafone Turkey Executive Committee, explained the project's intent: "We wanted to make this moment unforgettable by using technology to make our national team feel the support of all of Turkey." She added that the project brought together the excitement from across the country into a single point, demonstrating Vodafone's commitment to redefining experiences through technology. "Vodafone will continue to proudly stand by women's volleyball," Şahin stated.

Beyond the hologram display, Vodafone is engaging fans through various activities. During breaks in matches at the Ankara leg of the Volleyball Nations League, fan camera activations will project live images of supporters onto the stadium screens via their mobile phones. Participants in this activity will receive national team jerseys. Vodafone also hosted events at two of its Ankara stores before the league began, distributing approximately 6,000 Volleyball Nations League tickets, team jerseys, and other surprise gifts to fans.
