Vojvodina Party Demands Emergency Measures After Severe Hailstorm

The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) has called on the government to declare an immediate state of emergency in northern Bačka and other parts of Vojvodina that suffered extensive damage from a recent hailstorm. The party demands that damage assessment commissions be deployed immediately to provide 100% compensation for destroyed agricultural land.

LSV also requested urgent financial assistance from the budget, full modernization of the hail defense system, and tax exemptions for affected farmers on property and drainage fees. The party stated that the storm caused immense damage in Tavankut, Mala Bosna, Đurđin, Bačka Topola, and Bajmok, as well as in southern Bačka and Banat.

According to LSV, the severe weather is a direct result of the authorities' continuous neglect of the hail defense system. "Vučić's 'economic tiger' is building a national stadium, skyscrapers in Belgrade, dreaming of flying cars, and completely neglecting the system of protection against hail storms," the statement concluded.
