Volkswagen Amarok price in July 2026

The Volkswagen Amarok pickup concluded the first half of 2026 with 8,088 units registered in Argentina, marking a significant 40.8% decline compared to the same period last year. This figure comes as the current generation, produced in Pacheco, Buenos Aires, prepares for its successor.

Despite the sales downturn, Volkswagen has kept the list prices for all Amarok versions unchanged for July 2026. The most accessible model, the 4x2 variant, starts at $51,929,800. This pricing strategy comes as the company celebrates producing 800,000 units in Argentina.

Looking ahead, a new generation of the Amarok is already taking shape at the General Pacheco plant. Volkswagen is investing $580 million in factory upgrades for this new pickup, which will be designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in South America. Production is slated to begin in the first half of 2027, with a launch expected in March or April of that year. The plant is being reconfigured to specialize in pickups, with the Taos model now being imported from Mexico.

The upcoming Amarok will be developed in collaboration with China's SAIC, a partner of Volkswagen for over 45 years. This partnership will allow for both conventional and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The new model will feature a unique Volkswagen design and will move away from the traditional separate cab and bed architecture. Notably, the V6 engine will not be part of the next generation.
