Vollering wins second Tour de France Femmes title with final stage victory

Demi Vollering has once again claimed the overall victory at the Tour de France Femmes, marking her second career win in the prestigious cycling race. The Dutch rider cemented her triumph by winning the final stage, a 99.2 km route ending in Nice.

This victory in the final stage was Vollering's third stage win of this year's Tour. She had previously won stages five and eight, which allowed her to take the yellow jersey ahead of the crucial final 100 kilometers of the fifth edition of the women's Tour de France. She held a narrow eight-second lead over Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma.

The decisive moment came on the final climb, approximately 19 km from the finish line. Vollering launched an attack, initially countered by Niewiadoma. However, Vollering increased her pace a few kilometers later, and Niewiadoma could not keep up. Vollering crossed the finish line in Nice in 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 43 seconds, with Niewiadoma's group finishing 1:04 later.

In the final standings, Vollering secured a 1:18 lead over Niewiadoma. Italy's Elisa Longo Borghini finished third, 4:29 behind. Vollering's achievement makes her the first cyclist to win the Tour de France twice, adding to her record of three second-place finishes in the overall standings. She also holds two Grand Tour titles from the Vuelta (2024 and 2025) and won the Italian Giro this year, joining the legendary Annemiek van Vleuten as the second female rider to win all three Grand Tours.
