Volvo ES90 certified for class-leading 520 km range

The Volvo ES90 has secured a certified single-charge range of 520 kilometres in South Korea, placing it among the longest-range imported luxury electric vehicles in its class.

The certification applies to the ES90 Twin Motor, which uses a 106 kWh battery and an all-wheel-drive system. Under normal-temperature combined testing, the model recorded 548 kilometres in urban driving and 486 kilometres on highways.

Volvo Cars Korea said the certification appeared in the recently updated KENCIS vehicle emissions and noise certification system operated by South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment. The company also highlighted the vehicle's performance in colder conditions, where it received a combined range rating of 469 kilometres.

In low-temperature testing, the ES90 Twin Motor recorded 451 kilometres in urban driving and 491 kilometres on highways. Based on a simple distance calculation, the certified range would allow a vehicle to travel roughly 400 kilometres from Seoul to Busan and continue for about 120 kilometres.
