Vozinha arrives in Chile, expresses joy to join Colo Colo amid fan reception

Goalkeeper Josimar José Évora Dias, famously known as Vozinha, has arrived in Santiago, Chile, expressing his immense happiness to join the renowned Colo Colo football club. After days of anticipation, the Cape Verdean international, a standout player from the 2026 World Cup, landed at the Arturo Merino Benítez airport, greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of Colo Colo supporters.

The player, who turns 40, faced consecutive delays in his arrival due to issues with his visa documentation and personal commitments. Despite the setbacks, fans eagerly awaited his arrival, waving a Cape Verdean flag and chanting team songs as he made his way through the airport.

Vozinha is scheduled for rigorous medical examinations on Monday before signing a six-month contract, with a potential 12-month extension in 2027. He joins Colo Colo as a free agent after his contract with Portugal's second-division club Chaves concluded. His first training session with the squad is planned for Tuesday morning, followed by an official presentation at the Estadio Monumental at midday. His debut match in Chile has yet to be scheduled.
