Vrsaljko Receives Surprising Wedding Gift from Former Teammate

Former Croatian international footballer Šime Vrsaljko has tied the knot with Slovenian designer and entrepreneur Kaja Vidmar. The couple exchanged vows on Friday in a ceremony held at the Kraljevski Vinogradi, located on a hill above Petrčane. Details of the wedding were kept private, but some elements have since emerged.

Among the guests was Vrsaljko's former national teammate and fellow hometown friend, Danijel Subašić. Subašić presented the newlyweds with a rather unique gift: a donkey. Photos shared by Zadarski list show Vrsaljko posing with the animal, appearing surprised yet seemingly delighted by the unconventional present.

Vidmar, who previously appeared on the cover of Playboy and participated in Slovenia's "Dancing with the Stars," has two children with Vrsaljko: a daughter, Viktorija, born in 2022, and a son born in late 2023. Vrsaljko also has a son, Bruno, from his first marriage to Matea, whom he married in 2017.

This union marks Vrsaljko's second marriage. The 34-year-old defender previously played for clubs such as Atlético Madrid and Inter Milan before retiring from professional football. His marriage to Vidmar follows a period where they managed to keep their relationship details private, with Kaja hinting at their upcoming wedding in July with a "Future Mrs. Vrsaljko" post.
