Nigeria's path to the final included impressive victories over Ghana (4-2) and Togo (3-0), but their group stage campaign concluded with a 2-0 loss to Burkina Faso. Despite this setback, the Flying Eagles secured their spot in the final after a dramatic 2-2 draw against hosts Côte d'Ivoire, which they won 4-3 on penalties, with goalkeeper Clinton Lawani being a key figure.
