Wakin Chau jokes about 'not being fooled twice' after donating $1M to charity, joins Jacky Wu's concert

Singer Wakin Chau (巫啓賢) has joined the lineup for the "Diamond Stage Night" concert, an event organized by Taiwanese variety show king Jacky Wu (胡瓜). Chau, who was rehearsing alongside Wu and fellow performer Sun Hsi-chih (孫協志), shared a lighthearted anecdote about his recent charitable endeavors.

Chau revealed that he had previously donated NT$500,000 (approximately $15,500 USD) to a charity concert in April, organized by singer Julia Teng (張清芳). He also contributed his performance fee to the cause. Adding to the humor, he discovered that his wife had also donated to a similar charity event the previous year, leading him to jokingly remark, "I won't be fooled twice!"

When asked if he would be donating to Wu's upcoming concert, Chau's witty response drew laughter. Wu playfully quipped, "You can sue her for bigamy!" The exchange highlighted the camaraderie among the performers.

In a separate humorous exchange, Wu mentioned his daughter's enthusiasm for golf and her involvement in a celebrity golf association. Chau expressed surprise upon learning that Wu's daughter had paid NT$300,000 (approximately $9,300 USD) in membership fees, far exceeding the standard annual fee of NT$10,000 (approximately $310 USD). Wu joked that someone might be laundering money.

The "Diamond Stage Night" concert is set to take place on September 26 and 27 at the Taipei International Convention Center. Wu acknowledged that ticket sales are currently at 50%, expressing hope for increased support. He mentioned that his daughter's passion for golf had inspired him to take up the sport again, despite experiencing post-game soreness.
