They argue that visitors come to Walhalla to relax and enjoy the view, and that the current barriers detract from the monument's historical integrity, making it resemble a construction site. They advocate for a balance, suggesting that railings might be considered in particularly dangerous spots, provided they are in keeping with the building's architecture.

Experts and local leaders emphasize the importance of visitor responsibility, likening the situation to hiking in the mountains where complete enclosure is impossible. They argue that while the steps can be challenging, especially for older visitors or in wet conditions, a degree of personal caution is expected.
