War Looks Likely to Continue Through Winter, Zelensky Says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that talks with U.S. envoys visiting Kyiv had received a “positive assessment,” but he warned that the war with Russia currently appeared likely to continue through the winter.

“We very much hope that we will be able to reach agreements with our American partners,” Zelensky said. He also said Ukraine was counting on support from its European partners if the war continued during the winter.

“Even so, the teams today have a positive assessment of our future prospects,” he said.
