Water connections, sewerage applications and professional certificates now available online in Algeria

Three new services have joined Algeria’s national government digital services platform, bringing water-related administrative procedures online for citizens and companies.

The first two services cover connections to the drinking-water network and the public sewerage system. Residents can submit their requests through the platform and follow the progress of their files remotely.

The third service targets companies working in the water-resources sector. It allows them to apply online for professional qualification and classification certificates, while also tracking the processing of their applications. The High Commission for Digitalization said the system simplifies administrative procedures and reduces processing times.

The additions continue the expansion of the national portal, which brings services from different government sectors together. The portal launched on July 5 with 21 digital services. Meriem Benmoulould, the minister and High Commissioner for Digitalization, said the number was expected to reach 62 by the end of 2027 and 350 by 2028.
