Water pipe burst causes road collapse on DN 10, traffic restricted

Traffic on the DN 10 road, a vital route connecting Buzău and Brașov in Romania, has been significantly disrupted after a portion of the roadway collapsed. The incident occurred in the Lunca Priporului area near Nehoiu on Friday morning when a water pipe belonging to Compania de Apă Buzău burst.

The escaping water eroded the ground supporting the road on the lane heading towards Brașov. Without adequate support, the asphalt gave way, leading to the collapse. The damage has forced authorities to implement traffic restrictions, with vehicles now alternating on the remaining lane.

Regional road directorate (DRDP Buzău) confirmed the situation, warning drivers of potential delays. Traffic lights have been installed at the site to manage the flow of vehicles, and drivers are advised to maintain safe distances and adhere to the signals and instructions from personnel on the ground.

This collapse is expected to cause considerable inconvenience for commuters and transport services relying on the DN 10, a key artery for regional travel and commerce.
