Water Returns to El Cafetal After Main Pipe Repair and Pressure Tests

Water service is expected to return to El Cafetal after Venezuelan state company Hidrológica Venezolana (Hidroven) successfully repaired a major 72-inch water pipe. The pipe fractured recently, causing significant flooding and disrupting water supply in the Baruta municipality.

Darwin González, the mayor of Baruta, announced the completion of welding work on social media. His office confirmed that technical teams immediately began pressurizing the system to check for new leaks. If all tests pass, normal water distribution will resume.

Hidroven completed the welding on the 72-inch pipe rupture in El Cafetal, now pressurizing and checking for new leaks. If the work is in order, normal distribution cycles will begin.

The pipe's collapse had caused widespread flooding on El Cafetal's main roads, hindering traffic and alarming residents. The emergency repair work led to a temporary suspension of water services across much of Baruta.

Once water flow is stable, the relevant authorities and the Baruta Mayor's Office infrastructure department will start refilling the area and repaving the affected roads. Progressive restoration of service was anticipated for Tuesday, pending successful pressure tests.
