Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor Akinyoola Ayoola, widely known as Kamo State, has firmly dismissed speculation of a strained relationship with Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele. He asserts that their bond remains strong, even describing them as "even closer" now, despite not being seen together as frequently in public.

In a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, Kamo State explained that the decrease in their joint public appearances is a direct result of their demanding and growing careers. He noted that both he and the award-winning filmmaker are busier than ever, making it challenging to dedicate as much time to each other as they previously did. "She is very busy with her December project, which didn’t give her a chance. Kamo State appealed to fans and social media users to cease spreading what he termed "false narratives" about their relationship, emphasizing, "There is no fight; don’t let people paint what doesn’t exist." He recounted how Akindele has been a significant inspiration and role model to him long before they met, particularly recalling his admiration from his time on the set of "Everybody Loves Jenifa."

Kamo State also shared a past instance where Akindele offered to fund his wife's medical trip abroad for childbirth, highlighting this as one of many acts of kindness that have significantly contributed to his career growth. His latest comments aim to quell recurring social media rumors fueled by their less frequent public sightings together.
