“We are on an expressway, and we will not brake before reaching our destination,” says PM Shah

Prime Minister Balendra Shah declared that his party is on an "expressway" and will not brake until its destination is reached, emphasizing a commitment to national rebuilding. Speaking at the Rastriya Swatantra Party's (RSP) first general convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Shah addressed concerns about the party's sustainability and its political direction.

Shah likened his government's approach to a vehicle on an expressway, contrasting it with the idea of needing brakes for local roads. He asserted that the party has initiated a lasting political shift, comparing it to redirecting a river rather than creating a temporary gust of wind. He reassured attendees that the public mandate received is not a fleeting trend but a fundamental change.

Some leaders said a government is like a vehicle and that every vehicle needs brakes. That is true when you are driving on local roads, where you may need to stop suddenly. But our vehicle is travelling on an expressway. We will apply the brakes only after reaching our destination. There is no need to brake before then. Our vehicle is under control, the road ahead is clear, and there is no reason for concern.

Addressing the challenges of remaining in the public spotlight, Shah credited the people for the party's prominence and affirmed their continuous central role. He clarified the RSP's ideological stance, stating it is development-oriented and focused on moving the country forward, rather than engaging in traditional political disputes or settling old scores.

People often say public opinion changes like the wind. But we have not merely created a gust of wind. We have redirected the course of a river. Once a river returns to its natural course, it continues to flow forward. It does not change direction like the wind.

Furthermore, Shah pledged to take action against wrongdoing within legal boundaries, even if it involves lengthy questioning of officials. He acknowledged that social media might create an impression of chaos, but insisted that all actions are controlled and lawful. The party's focus remains on progress and accountability, ensuring the country moves towards its goals without unnecessary detours or stops.
