We are united for Tinubu’s second term, Amosun

Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has publicly reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid, stating that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are united behind the President's ambition for a second term in 2027.

Well, you know today is very special. Today is for the President and we all must come out to show and demonstrate that yes, we are for the President, we are for APC, and that’s why I am here.

Amosun made his declaration during the APC presidential primary exercise held at Ward 6, Itoko, Abeokuta, Ogun State. He described the primary as a special moment for party members to publicly demonstrate their loyalty to President Tinubu and the APC. "Today is for the President and we all must come out to show and demonstrate that yes, we are for the President, we are for APC, and that’s why I am here," Amosun stated.

You know we have done the one for the governor, so all of us are in sync, we have all taken that position. So, it is just to reaffirm what we have done and that is what happened. Today, all of us in Nigeria, not just this place, every ward in Nigeria is doing this and we have to come here to participate and do our bit too.

He explained that party stakeholders had already reached a consensus on supporting Tinubu's re-election, and the primary served as a reaffirmation of this nationwide agreement. Amosun noted that the orderly conduct and enthusiastic participation of party members reflected the growing acceptance of President Tinubu among Nigerians. "We are orderly and that is what it should be. All of us are speaking with one voice, no dissension. Everybody has agreed that yes, we want our President to return," he added.

I am happy with our people. You can see they are very excited and eager to be part of what is going on. I am satisfied with the process and you could see how the people came out in their numbers. See the crowd on ground; they have come to show support for our President.

The former governor also commended the party supporters for their peaceful conduct and eagerness to participate in the exercise. Afolabi Afuape, the member representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, echoed Amosun's sentiments, viewing the turnout as a strong indication of support for the President and thanking party members for their peaceful participation.
