Weather: Up to 37°C expected tonight

Tunisia is bracing for a significant heatwave, with temperatures expected to soar across the country by Thursday evening. The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) issued a bulletin forecasting highs of up to 37 degrees Celsius in the southwestern parts of the country.

Northern and central regions will experience temperatures between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius. However, southern areas are set to face more intense heat, with temperatures ranging from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, peaking at 37 degrees in the southwest. The weather is predicted to be clear to partly cloudy.

Winds will be a notable factor, blowing from the west in the northern and central governorates. In the southern regions, winds will come from the south. The Gulf of Gabès is expected to experience relatively strong winds, while other areas will see moderate to weak wind conditions.

Sea conditions will also be affected, with the sea expected to be rough in the Gulf of Gabès. Elsewhere along the coast, the sea will be slightly agitated. Residents are advised to take precautions against the extreme heat.
