Wedding unites two of Romania's wealthiest families in Iași

Iași, Romania – Two prominent Romanian business families are uniting as Matei Iulian Stratan and Iana Andreea Budeanu prepare to wed on July 25. The ceremony in Iași brings together the offspring of two of Romania's wealthiest individuals, marking a significant social event.

Matei Iulian Stratan, 41, is the son of Dan Iulian Stratan, the discreet founder and CEO of RCI Holding. Dan Stratan, whose fortune was once estimated at 250 million euros, built his business empire in consulting and energy sectors, with investments in companies across Romania. Matei, who studied at London Metropolitan University, has been involved in data science and AI startups, particularly in the energy field. He is also known from the celebrity circuit, having previously dated model Mădălina Ghenea, with whom he shares a daughter.

Iana Andreea Budeanu, 27, is the daughter of Ovidiu Budeanu, a well-known investor from Bacău, primarily recognized for his real estate and commercial ventures. The couple has reportedly been together for several years, with their engagement taking place in 2023, reportedly accompanied by a 100,000 euro engagement ring.

While Matei Stratan has stated he earns his own way and does not rely on his family's wealth, the union highlights the significant financial standing of both families. He previously told the press, "I don't claim my family's money as if it were mine. I have a salary and a company I work for. I don't benefit from it. I earn my own."
