Wei Chuan Dragons announce signing results for draft picks, top pick Liao Yongquan gets NT$5.7 million

The Wei Chuan Dragons have officially welcomed their new talent, announcing the signing results for their 2026 Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) mid-season draft picks. The team aims to inject fresh blood into its future roster with these promising newcomers.

Leading the signings is Liao Yongquan, the second overall pick from Nanhua University. The outfielder has inked a deal with a signing bonus of NT$5.7 million and potential incentives up to NT$1.4 million, totaling NT$7.1 million. Liao possesses excellent athletic abilities and has experience in both pitching and hitting, with the Dragons planning to develop him within their professional system to determine his long-term best fit.

Other notable signings include pitcher Huang You-ru from National Taipei University of Technology, who received a NT$4.6 million signing bonus and up to NT$700,000 in incentives. Left-handed pitcher Li Song-rui from National Chiayi University signed for NT$3.5 million plus incentives, and catcher Lin Pin-hao from the Tainan City baseball team has joined through an independent training contract.
