West Africa's Insurance Meets Tech Conference Set for September 18 in Lagos

The 2026 edition of West Africa's premier insurance and technology conference, Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), is scheduled for September 18th at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

This year marks the 5th iteration of the event, themed "Building Insurance That Connects." IMT was established by Creato Urban, a leading strategic communications agency in Africa, to address the critical need for dialogue and actionable solutions within the insurance sector. By convening stakeholders from various interconnected industries, the platform has consistently accelerated industry growth through technology-driven collaboration.

Organizers highlight that IMT has evolved into one of West Africa's most respected forums for insurance innovation since its inception in 2021. The conference cultivates partnerships, facilitates knowledge exchange, and promotes a significant shift towards digital-first insurance processes across the region, ultimately aiming for greater customer acquisition, engagement, and value creation.

Odion Aleobua, the convener of Insurance Meets Tech, reflected on the industry's progress, posing a critical question for this year's edition: "As we reflect on the progress of a newly reformed and recapitalized insurance industry, we must ask if we are truly making this transformation meaningful for the people it was designed to serve?" This question underscores the event's focus on ensuring that technological advancements and industry reforms translate into tangible benefits for the end-users.
