WestJet has begun parking some aircraft in anticipation of the labor dispute. The airline stated that negotiations have not yet yielded an agreement. If a strike occurs, WestJet plans to manage changes and cancellations proactively, aiming to inform guests in advance. The airline is maintaining its flexible cancellation policy for bookings made between July 30 and August 4, allowing for one-time fee-free changes or cancellations.

Under Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations, passengers affected by cancellations or significant delays may be entitled to compensation or rebooking. If WestJet cancels or delays a flight due to the labor disruption, it is considered outside the carrier's control. In such cases, WestJet must provide timely information, offer alternate travel arrangements, and potentially cover meal vouchers and accommodations. If rebooking on WestJet or a partner airline isn't possible within nine hours, passengers may be rebooked on a competing airline. If alternate travel cannot be secured within 48 hours, rebooking from a nearby airport may be required.
