What is keeping nearly half of eligible young voters off the roll?

Around 188,000 young people are missing from New Zealand’s electoral roll seven weeks before the election.

An estimated 440,692 people aged 18 to 24 are eligible to vote, but just over 57% have enrolled. That is the lowest enrolment rate across all age groups by a wide margin.
