WhatsApp Channels Now Support "States" for Temporary Updates

WhatsApp is enhancing its channel functionality by integrating the popular "States" feature, previously exclusive to personal profiles. Channel administrators can now share temporary content, including images, videos, and text messages, that will automatically vanish after 24 hours. This new capability allows for rapid dissemination of announcements, news, or promotional material directly within the channel. The posts will be clearly marked as "Channel State" to distinguish them from personal status updates. This move aims to offer administrators a more agile communication tool to keep their followers informed about timely matters. The feature is being gradually rolled out to both iPhone and Android users, and its implementation may take a few days. While offering a quick way to share ephemeral content, the platform also advises administrators to consider the frequency of these posts to avoid overwhelming their audience and to remember that the content is not permanent.
