When can Luis de Llano leave? Producer remains detained after Sasha Sokol case

At 9:13 a.m., Luis de Llano was still inside Mexico City’s San Fernando Administrative Sanctions and Social Integration Center, even though one of the arrest orders against him covered 15 hours.

The producer was detained by officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security for failing to comply with a judgment in the case brought by Sasha Sokol. Outside the center, his son Francisco waited after spending the night there in the hope of seeing his father.

Francisco defended his father before reporters, calling him “a gentleman, a great human being and a great father, a great person.” De Llano’s lawyer declined interviews but explained that the release required additional administrative steps, including the placement of official seals and delivery of the necessary documents.

The defense also said De Llano faces a second 15-hour arrest order. The two measures could be served consecutively, bringing the total to 30 hours. The arrest stems from Sokol’s civil claim for moral damages, linked to a relationship that began when she was 14 and De Llano was 39. Sokol made her accusations public in March 2022 after De Llano discussed the relationship in an interview, arguing that it involved a power imbalance and that she had been a victim.
