Where to Watch Belgium's World Cup Match on Big Screens Across Provinces

Belgian football fans have numerous options to gather and watch the Red Devils' World Cup Round of 16 match against the United States, despite the challenging 2 AM kickoff time. While not every usual venue will be broadcasting the game, several provinces and municipalities are facilitating public viewings on large screens.

In Mol, the summer bar at the Casino of Gompel will open specifically to screen the match. Mechelen and Herentals are not offering official city-organized large screens, but local cafes and bars will be open, with some permitted to stay open later. Geel allows cafes to extend hours provided the match is shown indoors.

Smaller communities are also stepping up to host screenings. Fans can find large screens at Kasteel de Renesse in Oostmalle, Chiro Calimero in Boom, Chiro of Heffen, the Marktplein in Kalmthout, Stade des Belges in Berlaar, and the summer bar at 't Kuipje in Westerlo. Bornem also plans a large screen viewing.

However, some locations have faced restrictions. Bar Brial in Mortsel, which previously hosted screenings, will not be allowed to set up a large screen this time due to concerns about large crowds and potential disruption, following negative advice from the police. Turnhout and Geel are also not permitting large screens. Halle, on the other hand, has approved screenings on multiple squares, with restrictions on music and commentary volume starting at midnight to minimize disturbance to residents.

Other locations offering public viewings include Machelen, where organizers received permission following the smooth running of previous events, with a 5 AM curfew. Hoeilaart will host screenings at the Gemeenteplein with extra police presence, and Overijse at the Park of Maleizen. Leuven's concert hall Het Depot will show the match indoors, while Herent's café Travoo expects hundreds of fans outdoors. Kortrijk's Devil Arena, Zwevegem's fandorp Moendial, and Oostende are also among the venues preparing for the late-night match.
