Who is Victoria Luz Cantero, the 25-year-old detained for allegedly killing her boyfriend?

A 25-year-old woman, Victoria Luz Cantero, is detained as the primary suspect in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, Matías Julián Álvarez Guardia, 29. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in Resistencia, Chaco. According to the victim's sister, Noelia Guardia, the couple had been together for about two years. She described Cantero as "very bad" and "very toxic," accusing her of acting "without compassion."

The victim's family reported that their relationship was fraught with conflict and repeated attempts to end it. Álvarez Guardia had filed at least two domestic violence complaints against Cantero in 2024 and 2025. Despite his efforts to break up, Cantero allegedly persisted in seeking him out, even entering his mother's home uninvited late at night on one occasion.

Social media profiles belonging to Cantero have since been deleted, but screenshots shared by friends of the victim reveal alarming content. Posts on Facebook and TikTok appeared to encourage violence against men. One Facebook post read, "I don't understand those who carry a Labubu in their bag, I would carry a Glock." Another stated, "I just want to love and mistreat the same man for the rest of my life."

On TikTok, similar threats were found. One post said, "I will never forbid my man anything because he is free to choose where he wants the knife to fit." Another echoed a sentiment about gender war, stating, "There is no gender war. Men have been abusive for generations and women are finally refusing to tolerate it. That's all."
