WHO warehouse destroyed in Ukraine's Dnipro

A World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse in Dnipro, Ukraine, was destroyed on Friday, the UN agency's director-general announced Sunday. The facility held essential medical supplies destined for front-line health centers.

On Friday, the WHO humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro, Ukraine, was hit and destroyed. No casualties were reported at the time.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated on X that while no casualties were reported, WHO personnel and drivers had evacuated approximately 130 of the 300 pallets stored there before the strike. The warehouse contained emergency medical supplies.

The team managed to evacuate 130 of the approximately 300 pallets and left the area before the attack.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022, the WHO has documented 3,148 attacks on health services in Ukraine. The majority of these involved heavy weaponry, with 2,567 attacks targeting health facilities, 71 hitting warehouses, and 645 impacting medical supply chains, resulting in 240 deaths and 1,055 injuries.

The warehouse contained humanitarian medical supplies intended for front-line health facilities, mainly WHO emergency supplies.
