Hanmi Pharmaceutical is combining its obesity drug Epe with digital health management as it treats obesity as a long-term battle rather than a short prescription course.

Patients prescribed the drug will be able to use a smartphone app to record weight loss, meals, exercise and how often side effects occur. Doctors can review those records and develop treatment strategies suited to each patient.

The company says it also plans to use the digital system to help patients improve their everyday habits.
