Wildberries begins compensating sellers after warehouse fire

Online retailer Wildberries has initiated fund transfers to sellers affected by a fire at its warehouse in Elektrostal. The company announced that the initial support will target over 88,000 small and vulnerable entrepreneurs, with funds expected to appear on their balances within 24 hours. Wildberries also stated that its goods withdrawal service would be normalized within the same timeframe.

The company's organizational efforts are focused on redistributing goods across warehouses to improve turnover and ensure the economic stability of its partners. However, Wildberries cautioned that the rebuilding of logistics processes means that fulfilling customer orders will take priority to meet consumer demand.

The fire, which occurred on July 18, was reportedly caused by a drone attack on Wildberries' logistics facilities in Elektrostal and Kotovsk, Tambov region. The press service confirmed that one person died as a result of the attack on the Elektrostal warehouse, and assistance will be provided to the victim's family. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that one Kyrgyz citizen sustained minor injuries in the incident.
