Wildberries meets Kyrgyz business leaders to boost e-commerce and support sellers

Wildberries, a major e-commerce platform, held a working meeting with Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Economy and representatives from local sewing, light industry, and seller associations. The discussion focused on strengthening e-commerce ties and addressing challenges faced by Kyrgyz businesses operating on the platform. Central to the talks were issues concerning compensation for goods damaged at Wildberries warehouses in Russia, alongside improvements in logistics and support for sellers. The company affirmed that Kyrgyzstan remains a priority market and that operations continue as normal. Special attention is being given to restoring logistical processes for Kyrgyzstan, assessing inventory, and developing solutions for sellers impacted by recent events at the warehouses. The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan indicated that it is also working on additional state support measures for domestic entrepreneurs, particularly in the textile industry. These measures aim to reduce financial burdens, preserve production capacity, maintain jobs, and boost export activity. A significant part of the meeting addressed the plight of sellers whose merchandise was affected by recent attacks on Wildberries' logistics facilities in Russia. To manage these cases efficiently, a joint coordination hub has been created with seller associations. This hub will provide guidance, targeted support, and assistance with compensation claims, the retrieval of undamaged goods, and other related issues. Initial partial payments to affected sellers have already begun, with a detailed compensation mechanism to be presented after a full damage assessment.
