Winds, thunderstorms, low temperatures hit Cyprus as Israel prepares for unusual summer storm

Meanwhile, Israel braced for similar unseasonal weather. Neighboring Syria and Lebanon reported strong winds and rain. Israel's Meteorological Service issued a Yellow Warning for Saturday afternoon, forecasting southwesterly winds of up to 50 kph, with gusts reaching 70 kph, across most of the country. The warning highlighted risks such as difficult driving conditions, potential power outages, and falling trees.
