Winnipeg Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Deceased Man

Winnipeg police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man who was discovered unresponsive in the city and subsequently passed away in hospital. The man was found on the evening of July 28 at the intersection of Main Street and James Avenue.

Emergency services transported the individual to the Health Sciences Centre, where he died the next day. Authorities have indicated that they do not suspect foul play in his death. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, the WPS Forensic Sciences Unit, and the province's integrated missing persons coordination centre have all been involved in attempts to identify him.

Despite employing numerous investigative avenues, the man's identity remains a mystery. He is described as being five feet seven inches tall with a thinner build. While his exact age is unknown, police estimate he was between his 40s and 60s. He had dark, recently shaved hair, a thin moustache, brown eyes, and a small scar above his left eye. Additionally, he had a one-to-two-inch scar under his right ribcage and a faded tattoo, possibly of the letters "MK," on his right hand.

When he was found, the man was wearing light blue Levi's jeans, a grey T-shirt, black steel-toed boots, and an orange-and-white striped belt. Anyone with information that could help identify him is urged to contact the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons Coordination Centre at 204-986-6250.
