Wir sind Helden song returns to the charts, reaching No. 6 after 20 years

A Wir sind Helden song released more than 20 years ago has reached a chart position it never achieved during its original run. “Von hier an blind” climbed to sixth place in Germany after covers and dance clips began spreading on TikTok and other social media platforms.

GfK Entertainment said the song rose from No. 12 to No. 6 in the latest Official German Charts. It first entered the singles chart in October 2005 at No. 43, then gradually fell to No. 82 before disappearing for almost 21 years.

The track returned on Aug. 21, 2026, at No. 59. A week later, it jumped to No. 12. The band, which enjoyed major success in the 2000s with songs including “Gekommen um zu bleiben,” “Denkmal,” “Guten Tag” and “Aurélie,” has now found a new audience through a revival whose precise trigger remains unclear.

Former frontwoman Judith Holofernes thanked users for the covers, dances and tributes. She said she wrote the song when she was young and felt she had already achieved her boldest dreams, only to wonder what would come next. She described it as a song about being unable to see the future and jumping into it anyway. Holofernes, who turns 50 in November, recently said she can no longer sing, probably because of a neurological voice disorder that developed in 2017.
