Wisconsin Brewery Loses License Over Trump Death Beer Offer

A Wisconsin brewery has lost its liquor license after announcing a promotion offering free beer on the day Donald Trump dies. Minocaua Brewing Company, which operates two breweries in the state, had its license revoked by the state's Department of Revenue.

The company has until August 4 to appeal the decision, during which time its operations can continue. Owner Kirk Bangstad, who describes his brewery as "the most progressive in the state," declared he would fight the decision "with tooth and nail."

Bangstad suggested the revocation might be linked to his political stance, referencing social media posts from the brewery. One such post stated, "Free beer all day the day he dies," which American media interpreted as a reference to Trump. Another post following an incident in April mentioned, "We were almost close to getting #freebeerday."

Wisconsin tax authorities commented that license rules are applied fairly and consistently, and that measures are taken when laws and regulations are not followed. Bangstad, however, believes the decision is unreasonable and potentially politically motivated.
