Wolt driver arrested for stabbing bus driver in Bnei Brak, police to request extended detention

Israeli police have arrested a 33-year-old resident of Bnei Brak on suspicion of stabbing a bus driver in Ramat Gan the previous week. The incident stemmed from a dispute over road usage between the bus driver and a motorcycle rider, who was working as a Wolt delivery courier.

According to police reports, the confrontation escalated last Tuesday, resulting in the bus driver being stabbed. The suspect then fled the scene. The bus driver sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment. Detectives from the Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan police stations initiated an investigation, collecting evidence to identify and locate the motorcycle rider.

According to the police, a confrontation had broken out last Tuesday between the motorcycle rider and the bus driver over a road-use dispute. During the confrontation, the driver was stabbed, while the suspect, working as a Wolt delivery courier, left the scene and fled.

During their investigation, detectives identified the suspect and tracked him to Tel Aviv. A search conducted after the arrest yielded a significant discovery: sharp objects and scissors were found inside the Wolt delivery box attached to the suspect's motorcycle, which he uses for his courier work.

The suspect was taken to the Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan police station for questioning and was subsequently detained. He is scheduled to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning, where police intend to request an extension of his detention as the investigation into the circumstances of the stabbing continues.
