Woman dead after car crashes into lunchtime diners in Melbourne

A tragic incident unfolded at a Melbourne shopping center when a car veered into a restaurant, killing a woman who was dining outside. The victim was seated at Westfield Knox in Wantirna South around 12:45 p.m. when the vehicle collided with the building. She was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been formally identified.

The driver and a passenger in the car were taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Ambulance Victoria confirmed they were in a stable condition. Another customer at the cafe received medical attention from paramedics at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
