Woman Dies After Being Hit by Van on Calzada de los Misterios; Driver Under Investigation

A woman, estimated to be between 50 and 55 years old, died Monday afternoon after being struck by a van on Calzada de los Misterios in the Gustavo A. Madero borough of Mexico City. The incident occurred near Eje 5 Norte, Montevideo, in the Villa Gustavo A. Madero neighborhood. Witnesses alerted emergency services after finding a person lying on the asphalt.

Responding officers from the Auxiliary Police arrived on motorcycles and found the victim unconscious. The van's driver remained at the scene. Paramedics from the Emergency Rescue and Medical Services (ERUM) confirmed the woman had no vital signs, with the preliminary diagnosis pointing to the collision as the likely cause.

Following the confirmation of death, police cordoned off the area to preserve the scene. Forensic personnel were called to process the site, collect evidence, and conduct necessary procedures to determine the accident's circumstances and establish responsibility. Traffic in the area experienced temporary disruptions due to the presence of emergency services and authorities.
