Woman Dies After Bungee Jump Fall in Brazil; Six Detained

A tragic accident at a bungee jumping site in Limeira, Brazil, resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman who was launched into the void without safety equipment. The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Ponte do Esqueleto, a well-known adventure tourism spot.

Preliminary police reports indicate that the safety harnesses and cables were not properly secured, leading to the woman's fall from the viaduct, which is between 30 and 35 meters high. She sustained polytrauma, according to reports. The victim was identified as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas.

Video circulating on social media captured the horrifying moment, with onlookers heard shouting about the missing safety rope. Witnesses attempted to provide first aid, but medical teams confirmed her death upon arrival due to the severity of her injuries. Six people were detained by authorities, including two who attempted to flee the scene.
