Woman dies after falling from bridge during bungee jump without safety gear in Brazil

A tragic accident in Limeira, São Paulo, has resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman who was allegedly pushed off a bridge during a bungee jump without safety equipment. The incident occurred Saturday morning near the Ponte do Esqueleto, a popular adventure tourism spot known for its 30-35 meter high viaduct used for activities like bungee and rope jumping.

According to preliminary police reports, the woman, identified as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, was launched into the void without the correct attachment of harnesses and safety cables. This catastrophic failure led to her suffering severe polytrauma. Videos circulating on social media capture the horrifying moment, with onlookers heard shouting in alarm as they realized the victim was falling without any restraints.

Bystanders attempted to provide aid, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but medical teams pronounced her dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries.
