Woman filmed bathing in Seoul's Cheonggyecheon stream sparks outrage

A middle-aged woman has drawn public criticism after being filmed bathing in Seoul's Cheonggyecheon stream. Videos circulating on social media show the woman sitting on the stone steps of the stream, surrounded by bathing supplies including soap and a scrubbing brush.

The footage depicts the woman pouring water on herself, lathering with soap, and appearing to scrub her body. The act was witnessed by numerous passersby during daylight hours, but the woman reportedly continued without apparent concern.

This incident follows a recent controversy where a man and woman were seen collecting coins thrown into a wishing well at the stream by tourists. That event also sparked public outrage over the perceived lack of respect for public spaces.

In response to the coin-collecting incident, the Seoul Facilities Corporation announced plans to strengthen its on-site response. The latest bathing incident has again fueled public condemnation of such behavior in a prominent public area.
