Woman in critical condition after early morning crash in Calgary

A woman is in critical condition following a severe early morning car crash in Calgary's Dover neighborhood. The collision took place around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday along 26 Street Southeast, near the intersection with 26 Avenue.

Calgary police reported that the injured woman was driving an SUV when it crashed into three parked vehicles. The impact scattered debris over a wide area and caused significant damage to the parked cars. One resident, Mahan Jadidi, stated that two of his vehicles were damaged in the incident.

Jadidi also commented that drivers frequently exceed the speed limit on this particular stretch of 26 Street Southeast. The area's roads remained closed for about eight hours as police conducted their investigation, eventually reopening around 2 p.m.

This incident follows another recent event where a woman involved in a Calgary police shooting died from her injuries, prompting an investigation by ASIRT.
