Woman injured in suspected shooting on Sunshine Coast

Queensland police are investigating a shooting that occurred on the Sunshine Coast, resulting in a 19-year-old woman being treated for a gunshot wound to her hand. The woman presented herself at Nambour Hospital around 11:30 p.m. yesterday, with paramedics and police not initially called to the scene.

Further police inquiries revealed that the woman and a 19-year-old man were sitting in a vehicle outside a residence on Image Flat Road in Nambour when an unknown number of individuals in a dark-colored vehicle approached them. A single shot was fired from the approaching vehicle toward the pair before it sped away. The woman's injury is not considered life-threatening.

Officers have established a crime scene at the location where the incident took place and have towed the couple's vehicle for further examination. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat related to this incident.
