Lucie Nanami, 24, spent approximately 2,000 dollars (1,800 euros) on Mami-themed merchandise, including dolls, figurines, and a life-sized cutout. She travels with Mami and even chooses restaurants that align with the character's image. Nanami, who identifies as a lesbian, was drawn to Mami's confidence and assertiveness, traits she found particularly appealing. She first encountered the character in the anime series "Rent-a-Girlfriend." Despite her deep affection for Mami, Nanami has also started dating a 27-year-old woman named Kaori, explaining that her love for Mami does not prevent her from pursuing a real-life relationship. She previously held an "engagement party" for Mami on her 21st birthday, with support from her family and friends.
