Woman, newborn die after delivery at MP hospital; video shows her screaming for help

A 25-year-old woman and her unborn child died during her first delivery at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, sparking outrage after a disturbing video emerged. The woman, identified as Kalpana Mishra, was seen in the video walking out of the ward, crying, screaming, and pleading for help.

She was heard telling her mother that "if this kind of treatment continues, they will kill her." Nursing staff were seen trying to restrain her, with one asking, "Have you gone mad?" Kalpana died shortly afterward.

In response to the video, the hospital dean suspended two doctors and two nursing staff. Hospital superintendent Dr. Sunil Agrawal stated that the woman's condition was poor from the beginning and she may have suffered from high blood pressure. However, Kalpana's father, Ramsharan Mishra, claimed she was active until shortly before her death and died due to negligence. He demanded action against the hospital administration.
