Woman stabs boyfriend, cuts off manhood in Kano

Police in Kano State have arrested a woman suspected of stabbing her boyfriend and completely severing his manhood during a violent altercation in the Badawa area.

The victim sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment. Detectives have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

"The Kano State Police Command has arrested a female suspect for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and completely cutting off his manhood during a violent altercation in Badawa," the police stated. They confirmed that the victim is receiving care at a medical facility and that investigations are ongoing.

This incident in Kano follows a series of similar violent acts reported across Nigeria. In May 2025, a woman in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was arrested for allegedly biting off part of her lover's penis during a dispute. In October 2024, a woman in Ogun State was arrested for allegedly using a sharp object to cut her husband's manhood during an argument. A case in Kaduna State in June 2024 involved a newlywed woman who allegedly attempted to cut off her husband's manhood before neighbors intervened.
