Woman tied up at gunpoint during Carenage home invasion

A terrifying home invasion in Sea View Gardens, Carenage, early Thursday morning left a woman tied up at gunpoint as two masked criminals ransacked her apartment. The intruders fled with her vehicle, cash, electronics, and jewelry.

The victim was asleep when she was awakened by someone attempting to open her locked bedroom door around 12:45 a.m. Moments later, the two men forced their way in. One, armed with a silver firearm and wearing a maroon hoodie, threatened the woman, warning her not to move.

The second intruder, armed with a knife and dressed in a navy blue T-shirt, tied the victim up using a T-shirt. He demanded to know the location of the rent money. During the robbery, this suspect removed his mask, revealing himself to be a dark brown-skinned man of African descent with a clean-shaven face, a broad nose, and a close-cropped hairstyle.

Police noted that the knife-wielding suspect was heard speaking on a cellphone, apparently receiving instructions from an accomplice. The stolen items included a Samsung S22 cellphone, two 42-inch TCL smart televisions, a jewelry box with several pieces, $1,000 in cash, and the keys to the victim's blue Suzuki Swift.

The criminals escaped the scene in the victim's stolen vehicle.
