Work continues on internal road projects in Al Buraimi

The Wilayat of Al Buraimi is actively progressing with a series of internal road and urban humanization projects, part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure, develop service and tourism facilities, and upgrade the governorate's road networks.

Eng. Obaid Salim Al Kaabi, Director of the Projects Department in Al Buraimi Governorate, reported substantial progress on road paving. The first package has seen 25 kilometers paved, with basic works at 84% completion and overall project completion at 51%. In the second package, 20 kilometers have been paved, reaching 50% completion for related works and 33% overall. Road maintenance projects affected by weather conditions have reached 16% completion, with asphalt paving finished at 10 sites and new maintenance work commencing at another 10 locations.

The governorate has completed paving 25 kilometers under the first package, where the completion rate of basic works reached 84 percent, while the overall completion rate of the project's works reached 51 percent. Meanwhile, 20 kilometers were paved in the second package, with a completion rate for its related works reaching 50 percent, bringing the total work completion rate in this package to 33 percent.

On urban development, the project to enhance the public street from Al Salam Roundabout to Al Khadra Roundabout was completed in February 2026. This 35,450 square meter project included 2,688 meters of walkways. Currently, work is underway on developing the public street from Al Nahdah Roundabout to Al Salam Roundabout. This extensive project covers approximately 90,000 square meters and 4,868 meters, featuring integrated facilities like walkways, green spaces, water features, a bicycle track, restrooms, investment buildings, and modern lighting.

A dedicated bicycle project, spanning 6 kilometers, is in the design phase. It will include 3-meter wide lanes, parking areas, and safety features. These infrastructure upgrades are crucial for Al Buraimi, aiming to accommodate its urban expansion and commercial activity, thereby boosting its aesthetic and investment appeal.

The development project of the public street from Al Nahdah Roundabout to Al Salam Roundabout, which extends over an area of approximately 90,000 square meters and a length of 4,868 metres. The project is distinguished by providing integrated and diverse facilities that enhance aesthetic and investment value, including health walkways, green spaces, water features, a bicycle track, alongside restrooms, investment buildings, canopies designated for cafes, and replacing the current lighting poles with modern poles for the public street.
